reboot.fm is an independent radio station, which will be on the air in Berlin (104.1 UKW), daily around the clock, from February to April 2004.
For the duration of the Festival reboot.fm will set up a temporary studio in Maria am Ufer and broadcast the complete club transmediale.04 programme live.

The station 's primary focus will be the small-unit structure of local culture production, with particular emphasis on activities in Berlin 's electronic music scene. reboot.fm is also an Open Source Software Development project. The project 's core is a free radio tool-kit: a software platform which will facilitate the world-wide exchange of programme contents between non-commercial free radios. reboot.fm thus aims to combine the possibilities of international Internet networking with the strengths of local terrestial radio, which is accessible to a much wider public. A newly for reboot.fm developed copyright licence will prevent commercial exploitation of unpaid radio production, whilst facilitating programme exchange between independent radio stations.
