Unique artist, unique style and personality, here's Kate
Wax and her childlike, crystal-clear voice piercing through rumbling, lo-fi
electro(clash) tunes and some nasty, overpowering frequencies. Alan Vega's
kid sister doesn't need PanSonic to bring the noise. The intensity and individuality
of her expression
are truly awesome here ! Her upcoming release consists of seven tracks of
hard-hitting, analog-sounding, rocking vibes oozing with attitude and half-sung,
half-spoken lyrics. Moving
from poppy ditties to crushing industrial rumble, Kate Wax bares her soul
and draws you into her universe, sound and voice spiralling into your consciousness
and the night sky. We're not talking plain dance tracks, there is something
much, much stronger going on as we experience the early, uncensored output
of a true artist in the making. "After graduation, I dropped graphic design
to put all my creativity into music and I start to write, sing and produce
intensively. I self produce
all my tracks, the lo-fi sound that results of the process is a kind of 'female
bricolage'. Yeah, I'm a speaking-doll in a technological world."
