Tim Hecker is considered one of the most talented and inventive
in Canada's new breed of electronic musicians. Having released two critically
acclaimed full-lengths on Montreal's Alien8/Substractif imprint, Tim Hecker´s
his Mille Plateaux debut "Radio Amor" abandons the coma-like ether
of structured rhythms for a much more rewarding world of white noise, trade
winds, and a miasmic mixture of saturated piano and guitar melody. A mature
work indeed, especially important in such an era of reckless cultural inundation. "Radio
Amor" is also regarded as one of the top ten electronica albums in 2003
by THE WIRE. Because of its combination of sheer experimentation and organic
fluidity, this album rises to a level of synchronicity achieved by only a
handful of
albums in the past few years. Truly an exciting artistic achievement.
