Susanna Niedermayr was born in Vienna, Austria in 1972, and studied painting and political science. From 1995 to 2000 she has been a member of WochenKlausur, a Vienna-based international group of artists, who make sociopolitical interventions at the invitation of art institutions and cultural organisations since 1993. She has been working as a journalist, presenter and web designer at the ORF (Ö1, FM4) since 1996, and as an editor of the Ö1 programme Zeit-Ton since 2000. She has published in various magazines, and has worked as an organizer and curator (Pleasure From Gdansk Till Dawn, Co-curator of a compilation for Leonardo Music Journal/MIT, 2002). In 2002 she co-authored the publication 'In The East - New Music Territories in Europe' together with Christian Scheib, a detailed investigation into the experimental music scenes of Eastern Europe. Only recently another publication on this same theme has followed: 'European Meridians - New Music Territories. Reports from Changing Countries'. In 2002 she set up line_in:line_out, a platform dedicated to the musical exchange between Western and Eastern Europe. She lives and works in Vienna.
